The Pick-Me-Ups invite you to hitch a ride and join them for a night of catchy, eclectic musical treats. Described as “a treasure trove of original songs, vintage blues and boogie-woogie”, their set takes you from the uplifting sounds of their debut single “Commotion” through a fabulous repertoire of swinging, original tunes and obscure finger-snapping gems.
Based in Perth, Andy & Coo Jarvis cut their teeth in the Sydney independent scene back in the late 80s, with their band Toys Went Berserk. Since then, they’ve toured and recorded all over the world, playing many different styles along the way.
As The Pick Me Ups, they unveil their debut EP “Commotion” at Django Bar on Thursday 10th October, featuring Coo on piano & lead vocals and Andy on guitar & vocals. Their old friend Paul Berwick (Happy Hate Me Nots) opens the night, with a solo acoustic set.
