Join the Royal Australian Air Force Band for Legacy, featuring a dynamic range of music. The program opens with Percy Grainger’s ‘Lincolnshire Posy’, a vibrant wind band suite inspired by English folk songs. Catalonian-born oboist Leading Aircraftman Salvatore Blasco Celda shines in the first movement of Oscar Navarro’s ‘Legacy Oboe Concerto’, showcasing the oboe’s expressive power.
Matthew Hindson’s ‘Headbanger’ energizes with its rock-inspired rhythms, while Ryan Fillinger’s ‘Symphony No. 1’ offers a deeply personal reflection on his grandmother’s battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. This concert promises an evening of emotion, energy, and exceptional musicianship!
