Now in its fourth year, The Tasmanian Songbook celebrates Tasmanian songs and songwriters. Songwriter, producer, instrumentalist and musical director Scott Targett returns with top Tasmanian musical talent in a more intimate show than ever before. Get up close with live performances by some of Tasmania’s finest musicians and storytellers, and celebrate our island’s rich musical history. You will hear both familiar and forgotten songs; some have been part of our history, spanning over five decades, and others are recently written works, but all relate to Tasmania. Musical director: Scott Targett Writer & MC: Helen Shield Featured artists: Grace Chia, Christopher Coleman, EWAH, Nick and Tom Wolfe (of The Wolfe Brothers) Band: Casey Kostiuk, Jethro Pickett, Scott Targett, Tom Wolfe. “Looking out across the auditorium, the dim light illuminates the wide-eyed and smiling faces of the audience, their expression is one of sheer joy. Toes tap and shoulders sway. Culture is being made here and now in real time. This is Tasmania in song. This is our story.” – Magdelena Lane
