Club Silly Vol. 1

Club Silly would like to acknowledge the Whadjuk People of the Noongar Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which this party is organised and held upon. We pay our respect to Elders past and present; and acknowledge the strength, storytelling and art of Sistergirls, Brotherboys and queer mob, that has paved the way for little queer collectives like us to exist. We are grateful to be able to share this creative space, move our bodies and play together on what always was and always will be, Aboriginal Land. 

We would also like to express gratitude for the privilege to be able to create a space of lightness while so much in the world feels dark right now. Our hope and intention is for this to be a place of collective resistance and togetherness as much as it is a place to have fun.

CLUB SILLY VOL.1 (so close you can almost taste it) IS A WHOLESOME QUEER NIGHT TO LET YOUR SILLY GREMLIN FREE (release your inhibitions), LET DOWN YOUR RATTY (feel the rain on your skin) AND HEAL YOUR INNER CHILD (live with arms wide open)

This party comes with a furby™-approved lineup of local talent and curators of horrific (fun) vibes, that will guide you through a night of connection, community and playfulness. 

Complete with a CRAFT CORNER, silly activities, COZY TEA STATION, sensory toys, SPACE-TRANSFORMING DECORATIONS, and the most cursed furby™ you’ve ever seen in your life.

We can’t wait for you to immerse yourself in our silly, silliness.

OKKK we know what you're thinking… What is a pre-party and why is it at the same venue?

Think about this pre-party like a wholesome queer crafternoon with friends. Expect craft supplies, (optional) ice breaker activities, sensory toys and chill music to ease you into the night. Perfect if you are flying solo and want to meet new peeps, prefer the more chill part of a night out, or need a little extra time to get comfy in a space.

⭑ If waiting in the entry queue is not compatible with your accessibility needs, let the door staff know and they will let you skip the queue.

⭑ Seating options: stools and wooden benches using the wall as backrest.

⭑ Low-intensity visual effects. No white strobes.

⭑ There will be a supply station in the courtyard with free goodies like ear plugs, condoms, phone charging station, panadol, lollipops, gum, tampons etc. (take what you need, leave what you don’t). 

⭑ There will be access to craft supplies, activities and sensory toys. 

⭑ There will be a tea station next to the bar to make yourself a warm (alcohol-free) beverage 

⭑ TOILETS: There is 1 unisex accessible bathroom, gender-neutral toilets with urinals and FLINTA toilets (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender). Use the toilet makes you feel most comfortable. 

⭑ IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE, event helpers will be identifiable with fluro yellow arm bands.

COVID SAFETY

⭑ Masks are highly encouraged and appreciated. There will be free masks available in the courtyard. We encourage you to bring your own if you can as we have limited supplies.

⭑ Please test before the event. If you test positive or a close contact of someone who has tested positive, please stay home.

⭑ Please use the hand sanitiser available to you around the venue

⭑ Venue staff will be given access to masks, hand sanitiser and are strongly encouraged to test and stay home if they test positive.

⭑ If you aren’t able to attend due to COVID, contact us and we will reimburse your ticket.

⭑ If you need a space to take a mask-free breather, there is an open-air courtyard or you can exit and re-enter the venue via William Street (provided you have a stamp)
