Wrapped in First Class pyjamas and inflated ankles, Frumpus navigate white knuckle turbulence to touch down in luxury goods. Damaged, swollen from neck to foot, and desperate to clear customs, they negotiate a land of extravagance, opulence and anarchic self-satisfaction.
The Flying Nun is a showcase of the outcomes from Performing Arts residencies with Brand X at the East Sydney Community and Arts Centre.
By its very nature, they celebrate the fringe, alternative and contemporary counter-culture, contributing multi-disciplinary creative risk-taking to the East Sydney Creative Precinct. Come and be the first audience to witness new work fresh out of the rehearsal room and by doing so, support Independent Artists with income and feedback to propel the work on to stages across Sydney.
What they are doing to ensure you are COVIDSafe at The Flying Nun:
Capping audience at 25 people per show.
Ensuring that artists and staff are well before they start work.
Sanitising all furniture and touchpoints prior to each opening.
Closing foyer bar and offering table service.
Reconfiguring venue to manage physical distancing.
Ensuring a three metre distance between stage and the audience.
